Ludei Cloud Compiler

After the release of the CocoonJS and the Ludei Launcher for Android and the approval of the Launcher for IOS, today we present another new and important milestone for the Ludei Platform, the Ludei Cloud Compiler.

Those of you who have already tried or read about the Ludei Platform already know that one of our key objectives is to help JavaScript and HTML5 games developers achieve the goal of distributing their games natively in the most important mobile application stores without having to make any code changes. And our developers still need the benefits from all the features that the Platform offers such as graphics acceleration, multichannel sound, access to native ad networks and in-app purchases and hardware direct APIs,  like using the camera, accelerometer, orientation, vibration or GPS.

In order to begin using our cloud compiler and automatically get the binary files required for delivery to the App Store and Google Play, first you have to follow a few simple steps. Remember, your game has to be developed in standard HTML5 and before compiling the game you need to make sure it is working properly in the launcher. Once you have everything ready, you will only have to register for the service, complete the information required, and use the same zip file that you have been using for the launcher. The compiler will take care of the rest! When your game is ready, you will automatically get an email with a link to download the files that will allow you to sign and start distributing your app. It’s that fast and easy. And the best thing about it, it’s free until 2013 🙂

Remember that the cloud compiler is still in its beta phase and there could be some minor problems. If you have any issues, please contact us and let us know about it.

Try now!

    AWESOME!!!

FInally, the wait is over :). Will definitely test this today!

Quick question, does cocoonjs support barcode/QRcode reading through device camera? If not, will it be implemented?

    Thanks!

        Too bad :(.

Btw, what’s the minimum Android version on compilation? I had successfully compiled a project, works well on 2.3, but not on 2.1. Haven’t tried for 2.2, so I’m wondering.

        Thanks

Little update. After compilation my game reduced RAM requirements from 120mb to 30mb and is now playable even on Galaxy ACE 🙂 What is more, also idle mode activated so game takes 0% of CPU when running in background. Big WOW for you Ludei.

ludei , i have a question and i wish you guys to answer it ^^ will the construct2 users (which paid the construct2) pay for the cloud too? or you guys did some stuffs with construct2 users? and if even construct2 users will pay will they get an offer?…

another question ,in 2013, if we made an app and we sell it do you guys get some part of the incomes? or we just pay the first time and all incomes come to us? also if we have an update to our game or app we will need to re-pay??

last question , the paying will be too much or no? because some of us want to publish about 30 app+ so what will he do if it too much to pay ?

i hope everything be answered as soon as you read this ^^ , i have write this news in scirra forum ^^

There is nothing about special prices at moment.

You can´t change the name, company and email directly but the feature is coming soon. Anyway, if you want to change it, send us an email and We will help you.

Hi, what’s the oldest version of XCode that I can use with cloud? I have a Mac Mini running Leopard, but will upgrade to Snow Leopard – will this allow me to access the version of XCode that I require?

        Hi Urtzi,
Thanks for your comment. My mac hardware will run xcode 4.2 if I make some changes, but no higher. Is cocoojs cloud compatible with xcode 4.2?

        Regards,
        Andy

I was really waiting for this!
I want to try it as soon as possible (but I have to finish my game, first!)
Congratulations Ludei, CocconJS is awesome, and with the last addition is now a complete product! (well, it needs a nice and detailed documentation, and some features here and there, but it’s definitely not missing anything now.)

Is it possible to use Cocoon with any third party stats packages or in-app purchase packages? I haven’t looked in to this yet, but I would imagine that most of them require access to the native code. Does Cocoon provide a way to hook them in?

Do you know which is the maximum image file size supported by the CocoonJS Launcher (Android)? I am trying to load a 1024 x 1024 image asset (aprox 500kb) but its not working.

Wow, I just made some test from some construct 2 demos and it runs really smooth, but I have 2 questions:

1.- When i`m testing a game (made with construct 2) and then I ock the screen, when I unlock it again it seems to split the image in some weird aspect ratio, and then I have to restart the app to fix the problem.
I tested this problem with different files (from the launcher and the compiler) in 3 Lg phones (L7, HUB and Optimus one) and all have the same problem.

¿Is this an LG devices problem or could this be some bug from CocoonJS?

2.- ¿Does CocoonJS support Accelerometer from Construct 2 games?

    Thanks

2- It will be available in the next release 😉

1.- Yes, I updated to the latest version of the launcher, but still happening the same
when i check in Warnings it says:
        -not implemented window addEventListener: devicemotion
        -not implemented window addEventListener: deviceorientarion
        -Not found getElementByld: c2cabvasdiv.

        the android versions I tested:
Lg Optimus One (p500): Android 2.2
Lg Optimus HUB (LG-E510F): Android 2.3.4 Kernel: 2.6.35.10
        Lg Optimus L7 (LG-P708g): Android 4.0.3 Kernel: 3.0.8

Also I uploaded the .Zip file if it can help on something:

Hi Ludei Team, I was trying your compiler with a construct game I am making. But for some reason the browser actions “Close” and “Open URL in new window” doesn’t work here, I think this feature is important to send our players to the Facebook page and also to the google play store (for a paid version maybe) ¿Is there a way to allow this in a future release?

Another Question: ¿Is it possible to edit the Android requests in the APK installer? (GPS location, Phone calls…etc.)

    Thanks!

      Hi IL,

The functions to open URL and close are going to be available in the next release. About the other question, at moment is not supported to change the requested permissions.

      Thanks!

Why do you call it a “compiler system” when it is a “packaging service”??? Using buzzwords to delude people about your work??? Bad marketing…
